I started writing the contents of this blog in 1996 I think.
I do not mean to say that I have been hitting it hard and studying every day. Far from it.
I started writing a little bit here and there, and then when I bought my first computer I started retyping it.
After that, every time I read over it I would delete some, add some and change some. Perhaps hundreds of times.
It became a bit of an anchor for me. It wasn’t an academic exercise for my intellect. It was profoundly challenging and spiritual.
I realize that some of the chapter headings may seem a bit corny, but when I wrote it there was always something in the news or on the TV that birthed what I wrote as section titles.
My goodness, I absolutely love Samuel and this section of scripture. Samuel is my biblical mentor type of character. I have so many answers to my thousands of questions by getting under the skin of this man.
I really and sincerely rate Samuel as bigger than Moses. His contribution to the history of the nation of Israel was immense and long lasting. You might think it a bit excessive to rate Samuel’s impact bigger than Moses’, but read this blog and see if your mind is not changed by the end of the 40 plus sections. My aim is to convince you of Samuel’s greatness by the time the blog is finished.
I am intending to start the posting somewhere around 4th August 2013. I do have in mind to add a few chapters more at the time of writing this introductory page.
Hope you find it helpful to Old Testament understanding.
